Volunteer

The whole thing depends on someone going to look

A case is only as good as the person who checked it. That is the job, and it is why this works at all.

The structure

Four levels, each answerable to the next

1

Street volunteer

Verifies cases locally, photographs what they find, uploads the evidence. The person who actually goes and looks.

2

Area coordinator

Checks the street volunteers' work, resolves anything doubtful, and re-verifies cases at random rather than on suspicion.

3

City lead

Holds the relationships with hospitals, schools and suppliers in that city, so payments go somewhere known rather than somewhere new.

4

National

Publishes the ledger, handles disbursement, and answers for anything that goes wrong.

The one rule that cannot bend

Nobody verifies their own case. Not once, not for a relative, not because it is obviously genuine.

Every charity fraud in Pakistan runs through someone trusted vouching for someone they know. Removing that possibility costs us speed and occasionally annoys good people. It is worth both.

What we ask of you

A few hours when a case comes up in your area. A phone that takes photographs. Willingness to say a case is not genuine when it is not — which is the hardest part and the most valuable.

No money passes through volunteers. Ever. If someone asks you to collect or carry cash for Charity.pk, they are not from Charity.pk.
